Chief Executive Officer

Kook Jeong Kim

Kook Jeong Kim is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of BlackFin Partners Group. He established the firm in Korea and obtained its private equity license from the Korean Financial Supervisory Service (FSS) in August 2025. Supported by strategic partner, BluFin Advisory, BlackFin focuses on cross-border alternative investments across buyout, venture capital and real estate, serving both domestic and international institutional investors.

Prior to founding BlackFin, Mr. Kim spent 4.5 years at Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation (SMBC) Hong Kong as Regional Head of the Global FIG Department, East Asia, overseeing financial institutions coverage across China, Hong Kong, Korea, Taiwan, Macao and Mongolia.

He joined SMBC in October 2013 as Group Head of the Global Korea Corporate Banking Department (“GKCBD”) and Group Head of the Financial Institutions Group (“FIG”) in Seoul, before relocating to Hong Kong to lead FI coverage for the broader East Asia region. Over his tenure at SMBC, Mr. Kim expanded coverage across a wide range of NBFIs and executed numerous cross-border transactions for Korean institutional capital, including credit card ABS issuances, Shogun bonds, LBO financings for global and regional PEs, SBLC structures for reinsurance companies, and large-scale real estate investments in global markets.

Before SMBC, he accumulated more than 16 years of experience in investment banking at leading Korean institutions, including Shinhan Investment & Securities (Korea & UK) and Mirae Asset Securities (UK). Mr. Kim earned his bachelor’s degree from Sungkyunkwan University in Korea. He is an avid golfer, traveler and mountain hiker.

Ki Hong Rhee

Dr. Rhee spent 12 years at Korea Investment Corporation (KIC) and served as Deputy CIO for private equity, overseeing global real assets and alternative investments. He has also advised on large-scale real estate and infrastructure platforms across Europe and Asia, and previously held leadership roles at Samsung Life Insurance, HSBC and Korea Federation of Banks.

Dr. Rhee holds degrees from Seoul National University and Carnegie Mellon’s Tepper School (B.A., M.A. and MBA) and is both a CFA and FRM charter holder.

Senior Advisor, Mainland China

Ingrid Zhu

Ingrid brings over 20 years of real estate investment experience, spanning direct investment, full-cycle asset management, cross-border structuring, capital raising and compliance. She has led investor engagement with global institutions including VAM, KKR and Ivanhoé Cambridge China.

Ingrid holds an MBA from Tongji University and a B.A. in Economics & Management from ACEM. She is bilingual in Mandarin and English.

Senior Advisor, Singapore

Jih Min Cheng

Jih Min brings senior experience in real estate investment and asset management, including leading the portfolio of a listed REIT in Singapore. He has managed mixed-use and retail assets across Southeast Asia, driving strategic growth and asset optimisation.

He holds an MBA from the University of Leicester and a B.Sc. in Estate Management from the National University of Singapore, and is fluent in English and Mandarin.

Luke Harris

Luke Harris is Founder & Director of Evolution Financial Services & Advisory. With over 24 years of experience across the Asia Pacific region, he brings a deep understanding of how to navigate complex and evolving business environments. His career spans hospitality, asset management, retail and banking & finance, working with both family-run businesses and large multinationals. He has previously held director-level roles and managed portfolios exceeding US$3.2 billion for high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth clients.

Luke currently serves as President of the Collins Street Precinct Group — Melbourne’s largest business association funded by the City of Melbourne — where he works with local and state governments to drive economic development across the Melbourne CBD. He maintains a broad network of HNW and UHNW relationships across multiple sectors and industries.

Manny Papas

Manny is a Senior Advisor with extensive experience in deal origination and structured debt, with a focus on Australia and the broader APAC region. He has facilitated over US$5 billion in global transaction flow, working closely with founders, CEOs and institutional leaders across real estate and sports. He specialises in structuring complex financing across both domestic and international debt markets.

Paul Gillen

Paul leads high-value commercial real estate transactions with over US$30 billion of experience across acquisitions, dispositions, recapitalisations, financings and asset management. Prior to BluFin, he founded PG Real Estate, and previously held senior roles at Hodges Ward Elliott, CBRE, Morgan Stanley and UBS.

Paul holds an MBA from NYU Stern and a B.A. from Georgetown, where he remains a board member and regular lecturer for the Steers Center for Global Real Estate.

Senior Advisor, Japan

Suguru Kobayashi Bob

Bob brings senior operating experience across real estate brokerage, asset management and development. Prior to BluFin, he served as COO at Project O Inc., founded E-City Co., and served as CEO of Nissho Air where he modernised a 40-year-old business and significantly expanded revenue. Earlier, he executed over US$2 billion in transactions at Morgan Stanley Real Estate Investment Group and Mitsui Fudosan.

Bob holds a B.A. in Economics from Keio University and is a Certified Real Estate Broker in Japan. He is fluent in Japanese and English.

Jason Lee

Jason Lee is the former Managing Director of Samsung C&T UK Ltd., with over 25 years of experience driving growth through innovative business models across consumables, commodities, and industrial materials. His work spans value-chain expansion, strategic partnerships, and functional diversification, with a focus on identifying new business opportunities aligned with long-term market shifts.

He has led numerous cross-border initiatives supported by an extensive network across Europe and the Asia-Pacific region, enabling him to execute complex global transactions and projects.
